nono.bounty exists because someone has to fund the boring, unglamorous work that keeps a privacy currency alive — reproducible builds, wallet UX, docs, fuzzing, seed nodes. There is no foundation, no treasury multisig, no insider allocation. So an early miner set aside NONO from their own coinbase rewards and turned it into a public bounty pool.
Fair launch
No premine. No reserved allocation. No team address. The genesis coinbase is unspendable by construction. Every NONO in circulation was mined.
CPU-friendly
Inherits Monero's RandomX. 60-second block target and slower emission give small CPU miners more room to onboard.
Privacy without theater
Same RingCT / stealth-address / bulletproofs+ stack that secures Monero. NONO does not invent new cryptography — it inherits a well-reviewed one.
No governance capture

Where the coins come from
The initial funder is a NONO miner from block 0. Rather than hold the coinbase rewards, they route a share of the emission into this bounty pool. The treasury address is public and every payout is a single Monday batch, so movement is auditable on-chain against the schedule on /payouts.
The intent is simple: convert real work into circulating supply, not into insider allocation.

NONO ships its own network id, magic bytes, address prefixes, P2P/RPC/ZMQ ports, genesis transaction, and emission curve. Consensus rules, ring signatures, bulletproofs+, and RandomX are inherited unchanged from Monero.

NONO is built directly on the Monero source tree and would not exist without the work of the Monero Project and the Cryptonote authors. Any bugs introduced by NONO's changes are NONO's responsibility, not theirs. The Monero Project, Monero Research Lab, and Cryptonote authors are not affiliated with NONO and have not endorsed it.
Software inherits Monero's BSD 3-Clause license. NONO's own changes are released under the same license.
